Principia[prin-CIP-eah], plural. of principium; latin; first principles, fundamentals. 

We borrowed the name from Isaac Newton’s exposition on gravity published in 1687.

There are two of us involved, George Finlay, pilot and flight instructor, and Barbara Bour, garden designer.

An ex-science teacher, currently a flight instructor, George specializes in transition and recurrent training in Columbia and Cirrus aircraft. His long term interests have been meteorology, and piston engine management. Now he is adding water supply and waste water issues to his focuses.

Barbara's garden designs focus on plants suitable to the mid-Atlantic region that offer full season interest. She emphasizes organic and environmentally sound gardening practices, and dense plantings of a variety of plants to encourage soil stability and reduce maintenance and water needs.
