Love my little boat

Sailor

Its called a MELONSEED, a sprit-rigged skiff, 13'8" LOA, 4'

beam, 250 lbs displacement, 6" to 2'6" draft, 62 sq ft

sail area. It was home-built from marine plywood by

Grant Rudnicki about 10 years ago in Norwell MA,

following plans drawn by Marc Barto and published by

Wooden Boat. The design goes back to a hunting skiff

that became popular on Barnegat Bay in the late 1800s.

Plans for the original can be ordered from the

Smithsonian.
